Host Philosophy

A distinctive element exclusive to Hay Creek Hotels’ approach to guest service is its “Host Philosophy,” which encourages each Associate to develop the skills necessary to offer competent hospitality service outside the realm of their primary job responsibilities. The ability of our Host Associates to proficiently multi-task provides guests at Hay Creek properties a secure, comfortable confidence that their service expectations will be exceeded. Delight and Surprise

Hay Creek Hotels’ goal is to continue to communicate and motivate the staff. The Delight and Surprise Program is one of the many ways we recognize fellow Hay Creek team members. “Delight Dollars” are issued to associates who have gone above and beyond to directly Delight and Surprise a customer or did something special to assist a fellow associate.   

Communication Proclamation

Hay Creek Hotels offers clear and effective communication throughout the company by using a Communication Proclamation concept for all its associates. We believe that effective communication is especially necessary in workplace relationships and promote an open door policy with all associates. Hay Creek Hotels proclaims to continually communicate to its associates in a positive, motivated and fair manner, while seeking and valuing associate feedback and creative suggestions. Hay Creek uses the acronym S.E.AC. – training all associates to Smile, make Eye contact, Acknowledge, and Close when interacting with any visitors including co-workers, vendors, and guests.

Student & Career Development

Rising Manager Program

The HCH Rising Manager program has been uniquely designed to take participants step-by-step through four progressive phases of training in order to prepare them to become one of Hay Creek Hotels’ elite managers within our ever growing portfolio of hotel and restaurant properties.

The RM Program is distinctive in that an associate can take the program at their own pace and only move on to the next phase when they feel comfortable. Whether a current or new Host Associate, they will cover line level operations, human relations management, hotel procedures, legal requirements, and operational oversight in the department of focus.

Upon completion, a Rising Manager has the choice to determine their next step. Once the program has been completed in full, RM’s are eligible for all opportunities at any of our HCH locations.

Students & Internships

Many of our Hay Creek Host Associates are current students or alumni from local colleges and universities. We welcome all students and alumni with diverse backgrounds in customer service, marketing, business administration, hotel and lodging management, culinary and pastry, and hospitality management. A variety of internships, part time, full time, and on call opportunities are available for busy students in need of flexibility.
